Rob Mastrantonio’s schooling started at the SUNY Stony Brook campus, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Rob’s first job after college was with Chubb Insurance Company as an underwriter. After a few years, Rob decided to enhance his skills by working for CNA Insurance Company, where he promoted customized products to over 50 insurance agents around Long Island.

Rob earned his legal degree at Touro College’s Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center while working at CNA. After passing the New York State bar, he joined Island Risk Management as a Dealer and Sales Associate. Rob spent years studying the ins and outs of overwriting as well as the process of creating authentic client/insurer relationships. Rob was in charge of all aspects of the coverage recommendations, from comparing quotations to determining risk.

After receiving his New York State broker’s license, Rob Mastrantonio was appointed CEO and President of Omni Risk Management. He and his staff of 25 skilled professionals served the Tri-State region for almost a decade, specializing in property and liability insurance as well as contractor bonds. Rob’s skill set grew over time, and he learned more about overwriting and the necessary investigations needed before making policy suggestions. The company’s success was due to its outstanding customer service, total openness, and attention to detail, in addition to its skilled workers. Many of the ties that developed during that period have survived to this day. He also contributed his legal expertise to the book What to Do When Construction Projects Go Bad in New York.

Rob Mastrantonio was also selected from a small group to participate in a two-year academic project at Molloy College in East Farmingdale, NY, called The Energeia Partnership. This organization brings together a varied collection of leaders from every sector of Long Island’s economy – governmental, private, and non-profit – to address the island’s severe socioeconomic and environmental concerns. Rob won The Energeia Partnership-Long Island Trustee award for his contributions.
